Delhi Cop Robbed: Two masked men flee with Delhi police’s car at gunpoint | Gurgaon News – Times of India

GURGAON: The car of a Delhi Police constable headed for G20 duty was stolen at gunpoint by two masked men near Kherki Daula on the Southern Peripheral Road on Saturday evening.
Raj Kumar (31), who is posted at Prahladpur police station, left his Mahendergarh home in his blue Baleno around 9pm. He was headed for Central Secretariat near ITO in Delhi.
“Around 11pm, when I had reached Haldiram Road, a white Swift overtook me and slowed down a little ahead. A man got out of the car and asked the driver to reverse. I thought they might have missed a turn,” Kumar said in his complaint at Kherki Daula police station.
A man walked up to the constable’s car and pointed a gun at him. “Before I could understand what was happening, another man came up to my car and pointed a gun at me through the windshield. Both of them were wearing masks. A third person remained seated in the car ahead,” Kumar alleged.
The cop was then dragged out of the car and asked to hand over the keys. “I didn’t know what do to. There was no one on the road. So, I decided to give in to their demands without resisting. They pushed me to the ground and fled with the car,” he said.
The car also had Ravi’s purse with Rs 5,000 in it, his driver’s licence, photo ID and even his uniform. “I frantically looked for someone who would lend me a phone so that I could make a call to the nearest police station. After sometime, I found a woman at a nearby eatery. She guided me to the Kherki Daula police station,” Ravi said.
After he had lodged a complaint, Ravi borrowed a police uniform and headed for his duty at ITO. He was deployed there from 3am to noon.
“We examined CCTV footage from a camera installed on a building nearby. But the footage is not clear because the stretch is dark. We can see two persons pointing a gun. But their faces are covered with handkerchiefs. We will arrest them soon,” said Ajay Malik, the SHO of Kherki Daula police station.
After the constable’s complaint, an FIR was registered under sections 392 (robbery), 397 (robbery or dacoity with attempt to cause death) and 34 (common intentions) of the IPC and provisions of the Arms Act at Kherki Daula police station.
