MotoGP and UP International Trade Show: 10,000 foreigners likely to check in, room tariffs in Noida shoot through the roof | Noida News – Times of India

NOIDA: The hospitality sector in Noida and Greater Noida is encashing two mega events – MotoGP Bharat from September 22-24 and UP International Trade Show from September 21-25 – which will see an influx of nearly 10,000 foreign delegates, VIPs, and other high-profile guests.
Five-star hotels are nearly booked, with a room tariff 10-15 times higher than the normal. The two- and three-star hotels are also encashing the opportunity. Hoteliers said the average room tariff in Delhi-NCR is Rs 25,000/room per night, which varies from Rs 3,000-5000 at other times.
“The city will witness a lot of tourist inflow, both national and foreign, for MotoGP. At the same time, the UP trade show will happen. Primarily, we have been dealing with MotoGP, and two main teams with other high-profile delegates had booked our rooms much earlier. Since the trade show announcement came later, we can’t provide much accomodation for that. We are nearly sold out, with an average room tariff of Rs 40,000 per room per night. Only a few rooms are in buffer,” said Anirban Sarkar, general manager of Radisson Blu hotel in Greater Noida.
Officials said 80 riders from 19 countries will participate in MotoGP Bharat. The nearly 5,000 foreign nationals, international motorbike racers and other delegates attending the event will stay at over 40 hotels across Delhi, Noida, and Greater Noida.
“Over 400 foreign buyers from 66 countries will arrive in the city for the UP trade show. Most guests will stay at the Expo Inn Suite and Convention at India Expo Mart, but that space is insufficient, so many will stay at top hotels. For other delegates, we have arranged boutique hotels and paying guest accommodations in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad. This will give impetus to the hospitality and logistics sectors,” said Rakesh Sharma, chairman of India Exposition Mart Ltd, the company co-hosting the event with the state government.
“The two mega events will put the city on the global map and help the hospitality and logistics sectors to get global recognition. Nearly 80% of our rooms remain booked, but some executive and deluxe suite rooms are still available. Hopefully, these events will make way for more,” said Sharad Upadhayay, general manager of Crown Plaza Hotel.
The security of the hotels have also been beefed up, informed the managements.
The hotels are now revamping their facilities and arranging special programmes to welcome the delegates. The are also preparing to offer guests an array of mouth-watering dishes, from continental and local cuisine to custom-made meals for riders.
The Crown Plaza Hotel in Greater Noida will also organise a food festival, U, at which local food from all districts of UP will be available, said Sharad Upadhayay. U will include standout dishes like kaju matar ki shaami, kakori kebab, Rampuri chicken seekh kebab, litti chokha, Lucknowi gosht, aloo wadi rassedar, and Muradabadi dal, among others. It will also be open for walk-in guests. On its menu, the hotel will offer continential dishes like Arugula and poached pear salad, mee bakso (an Indonesian broth), steamed fish with soya ginger, crispy pork belly, and sous vide leg of lamb, said head chef Saurabh Chandel.
“Hotels are also instructed to provide meals according to the riders’requirements. The cuisines of each hotel have been specially-designed for the foreign nationals, with continental and oriental options,” said Suraj Kumar Singh, CO of Hitanshi Global, a partnering company of MotoGP.
“Most MotoGP riders will stay at our Greater Noida hotel, while some foreign delegates and spectators will stay in Noida. All rooms are booked on the dates,” said a representative from Noida Radisson Blu hotel.
