GURGAON: Two bike-bornemen snatched a gold chain from a woman on Saturday morning when she was returning home after dropping off her son at the bus stop near Maruti Kunj where their school bus arrives, cops said.
The incident was recorded on a CCTV camera installed in the area.
According to police, Rita Singh (35) is a resident of Ryan Enclave in Bhondsi. “Around 7.20am on Saturday, I went to Shriram Chowk to drop my 15-year-old son to catch school bus. While returning home, two men on bike came near the bus stand and snatched my chain worth Rs 75,000. I shouted for help, but before anyone could do anything, the men fled towards Maruti Kunj road,” the complainant said, adding that she immediately called the 112 helpline number and cops reached the spot. The area was combed by them, and CCTV footage is being scanned t identify and track the accused.
“Thankfully, the faces of the two accused are clearly visible in the footage. They are currently on the run. However, we are conducting raids to arrest them soon,” inspector Sameer said.
An FIR was registered on Saturday under Section 379A (snatching) of the IPC at Bhondsi police station.
