Vasco: To thwart any possible attempts at creating communal disharmony and to monitor anti-social elements, Vasco police conducted a foot patrol at various sensitive areas of the port town on Tuesday.
Vasco police station incharge Kapil Nayak told TOI that deputy superintendent of police, Vasco sub-division, Salim Shaikh, was present for the drive.
“Foot patrolling was held at Baina, Mangor Hill, and in Vasco. The port town has been seeing communal tensions recently, and the foot patrol was needed to sensitise people and get them to refrain from activities that could harm or hurt religious sentiments,” said Nayak. “We appeal to the people to maintain peace and brotherhood,” he said.
