BHUBANESWAR: The XIM University, Odisha, organised its 8th annual business conclave, ‘Parivartan’, on India’s advancement towards sustainable development through carbon markets, at its new campus in Harirajpur.
The event was organised by the School of Sustainability, XIM University, in association with ConXerv, the institute’s functional committee. The event aimed at bringing together stakeholders for a detailed deliberation on the theme.
Sutapa Pati, dean of School of Sustainability, marked the commencement of the event.
The conclave covered pressing topics like carbon mechanism and the future role of carbon markets in sustainable development. The talks highlighted the importance of quality and technology used in the generation of carbon credits.
Experts acknowledged the need for policies like green taxes to help push businesses to turn sustainable. It concluded with a panel discussion on the urgent requirement of a carbon compliant market. TNN
