Two Youths Drown In Subarnarekha | – Times of India

Jamshedpur: Two students of the KMPM Vocational College, Bistupur, drowned in Subarnarekha river at Kanderbera area in Chandil town of the Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Wednesday evening. The bodies were retrieved by the Tata Steel divers on Thursday, police said.
The deceased were identified as Kunal Singh (18), a resident of Subhash Colony in Mango, and Shivam Kumar (20), a resident of Bara flats in Sidhgora, they added.
Citing fishermen, police said the boys ventured into deep water of the swollen river for taking a bath. Both the boys got caught in heavy current and drowned.
Police said Kunal and Shivam had reportedly gone to Kanderbera after classes to enjoy a picnic on Wednesday.
When Kunal’s mother called on her child’s mobile to enquire about the delay in returning home, officer in-charge of the Kapali outpost Sandeep Kumar received the call. He informed her about the incident. On reaching the site, the members of both the families found the school uniforms, the bags, and the mobile phones of the two teenage boys lying on the ground, they added.
