Chennai Metro Rail warns of action against people blocking train doors | Chennai News

CHENNAI: Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has warned of legal action against people obstructing train doors during peak hours as it disrupts train services.
“Obstructing train doors poses serious safety risks, disrupts service and can result in injuries. It is essential for passengers to understand that obstructing doors is not only a breach of safety protocols but also a punishable offense under Section 67 of the Operations and Maintenance Act of 2002, which is punishable with imprisonment for up to four years and a fine of up to Rs 5,000,” a release said.
The agency has requested passengers who witness people obstructing train doors to immediately report it to the customer care helpline – 1860-425-1515.
