Aayakar Bhawan Inaugurated In Dibrugarh | Guwahati News – Times of India



Dibrugarh: The new Aayakar Bhawan (Income Tax Office Complex) in Dibrugarh was inaugurated by Nitin Gupta, chairman of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), on Friday.
Raju Tayeng, principal chief commissioner of Income Tax (North East Region), G Gaichanglungliu Kamei, commissioner of Income Tax (NE region), tax payers, invitees, officers and officials of the Income Tax department were present on the occasion.
Nitin Gupta, in his speech, stated the new Aayakar Bhawan will facilitate taxpayer services and ensure collection of revenue for nation building. Gupta also inaugurated the Income Tax Residential Complex in the Lachit Nagar area of Dibrugarh. Gupta said the complex will fulfill the housing needs of the officers and officials posted in the region.

The properties being searched include Tangedco’s thermal plants, the financial controller’s residence, and locations linked to Radha Engineering Works, a contractor for handling coal for the utility’s plants in and around Chennai.
Income tax sleuths conduct searches on premises of Tangedco finance controller, private firm in Chennai
Income tax authorities have begun searches in over 30 locations in Chennai, including the house of Tangedco finance controller Kasi, who is linked to a private firm supplying coal handling materials to Tangedco. The searches are part of an investigation into alleged malpractices in the procurement of transformers. Anti-graft NGO Arappor Iyakkam had flagged these malpractices and released a video showing Kasi at former electricity minister V Senthil Balaji’s official residence. Over 100 income tax officials are involved in the searches.
