Coimbatore: The vital organs of 41-year-old VJ Jijohn, of Kamarajapuram at RS Puram, were donated after he was declared brain dead by doctors following a road accident on Tuesday.
Jijohn met with an accident near Cross Cut Road, Gandhipuram, on Tuesday. He was declared brain dead by doctors on Wednesday. Jijohn’s family members immediately came forward to donate his organs. Surgeons harvested heart, kidneys, and eyes from the deceased in accordance with the regulations.While one Kidney was transplanted at KMCH, another kidney, heart, and eyes were sent to private hospitals in the city, giving new lease of life to five people.
