Ludhiana: The civic officials kicked off construction of a road in Sunder Nagar area. Kirpal Nagar road would also be reconstructed under the project. The project to reconstruct roads is being taken up at a cost of Rs 84 lakhs. Apart from benefitting residents living in these areas, these projects would also prove beneficial for the hosiery industry in the area.
MLA Ashok Prashar who inaugurated the work said roads were in bad condition and he had taken up the issue with the civic body officials. The project to reconstruct the above stated roads has been commenced and the authorities have been directed to keep a check on the quality aspect. He said they are also working to redevelop a number of parks in the area and continuous efforts are being made to improve the infrastructure.
He said strict action will be taken against the contractors or officials concerned, if there is any compromise on the quality of works.
