Ranchi: The Khunti police have stepped up anti-extremist operations after Maoists pasted posters at two places under the Arki police station area on Friday.
The posters have urged people to take part in the 19th foundation day celebration of the CPI (Maoists), which is being observed from September 21 to 27.
Khunti SP Aman Kumar said that posters were stuck in the villages located on borders with West Singhbhum district. It may be stated here that the state police are conducting operations in sensitive places in view of the Maoists programme. The security around the public installations has been increased.

Anti-Congress posters put up in Hyderabad amid CWC meeting
During the Congress Working Committee meeting in Hyderabad, posters and hoardings criticizing the party and its six guarantees were displayed across the city. The posters also highlighted that Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao provides higher old age pensions than Congress-ruled states. Congress leader Pawan Khera accused KCR and his daughter of corruption. The meeting also adopted resolutions on the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) and condemned China’s incursions into Indian-held territory.
