Indian rowers displayed remarkable strength and teamwork, earning a second-place finish with a time of 05:43.01 in the Men’s Coxed Eight final event at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou on September 24. This achievement marked the Indian Men’s Coxed Eight Team’s second victory since the 2014 edition and their third rowing medal at the Hangzhou Games. Initially third, the Indian team, composed of Neeraj, Naresh Kalwaniya, Neetish Kumar, Charanjeet Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Bheem Singh, Punit Kumar, and Ashish, delivered a strong performance in the second half, securing the silver medal, just 2.84 seconds behind China. This success came on the opening day of the Hangzhou Asian Games, setting a positive tone for India’s medal pursuit in rowing and shooting.
