Jaipur: After skipping BJP’s Parivartan Sankalp Yatra in her home turf Jhalawar a few days ago, former chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Saturday displayed a major show at her residence in Jaipur. Hundreds of women from across the state gathered at her residence to attend the ‘Raksha Sutra’ programme.
Raje expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of all the women for the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill.
“Modi Ji has made it clear that the nation’s progress is incomplete without the participation of women by bringing the women’s reservation bill,” added Raje.
She was ecstatic about the group of ladies and declared, “Seeing the enthusiasm of the women present here, it is certain that women’s power will sweep away the anti-women Congress government.”
The majority of the women were holding flowers in their hands while wearing traditional red sarees.
She was last seen in Bikaner during the launch of the fourth phase of the Parivartan Sankalp Yatra in September. Reportedly, she was in Delhi and didn’t attend any leg of the yatra. Since noon, the women have started pouring into the Raje residence at 13 Civil Lines. By 2pm, all lanes leading to the residence were jam-packed, making it hard for the traffic police to manage the movement of vehicles in the VIP area.
She thanked the women for presenting the Raksha Sutra and described it as a source of courage that would enable her to face any challenge. “It will keep me motivated. It is said that Draupadi tore her saree and tied it around Krishna’s finger in the Mahabharata when his finger was cut. Inspired by Krishna, I will serve you as well and continue to defend the rights of every Rajasthani,” said former chief minister Raje.
Raje is likely to visit the party office on Sunday to oversee the preparation for Modi’s public address at Vatika in Jaipur on Monday.

Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam: Key points of women’s reservation bill
The Indian government has tabled the women’s reservation bill in the Lok Sabha, which aims to provide one-third reservation to women in Parliament, state assemblies, and the Delhi legislative assembly. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the approval of the bill, stating that it will ensure more women become members of Parliament and assemblies. However, the bill can only come into effect after the delimitation exercise is undertaken in India, meaning it cannot be implemented before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Additionally, it will need to be approved by at least 50% of state assemblies to become a law.
