Vadodara: The cops have tightened security ahead of the immersion procession of Juni Ghadi Ganesha in the old city. The police said that it is also keeping an eye on the historysheeters and mischief mongers to ensure that they don’t create any trouble.
The cops will be using 24 Aska lights to keep the immersion route illuminated apart from 24 blink lights. Apart from the police, the state reserve police (SRP), central reserve police force (CRPF) and Rapid Action Force (RAF) too have been deployed in the communally sensitive areas.
Sixty-two cops with body-worn cameras and 57 videographers will capture the happenings during the processions while 53 deep points have been created. The police said that their focus will be on preventing any communal trouble during the processions.

The Rani Chennamma Maidana Gajanana Utsava Mahamandala in Hubballi has planned a grand immersion procession for the Ganesha idol installed at Idgah Maidan. Around 1,850 police personnel will be deployed in Trichy to ensure a smooth immersion procession for Vinayaka Chathurthi. The city police commissioner, N Kamini, along with three DCPs, will be on duty to maintain peace during the event. Traffic diversion plans have been announced for buses and heavy vehicles, and alternate routes have been designated. The police force conducted a flag march as a precautionary measure.
