Not Good To Politicise River Issue: Min | Mysuru News – Times of India

Mysuru: In a democracy, protests and dharnas have had their own importance. Similarly, peaceful protests and bandh have been observed with respect to the sharing of Cauvery water, said social welfare and Mysuru district minister HC Mahadevappa on Friday.
Speaking to the reporters, he said that the state government had put forward the facts and figures before the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA), but orders were not in the state’s favour. “It is not good to politicise the issue,” the minister said, adding it is important that the PM intervenes in the issue since there is a need to come out with a distress formula.
Stating that the state was bound to follow the orders of the CWMA, Mahadevappa said that the authority had been formed by the orders of the Supreme Court. CM Siddaramaiah is holding talks with the legal experts to come out with a solution to the existing issue, he said.
