Panaji: Panaji police booked a head clerk of the town and country planning department (TCP) for submitting a false birth certificate to obtain his job. Police have booked Sandesh Naik, 59, a resident of Veling, Ponda. No arrest has been made as yet.
On September 29, Rajesh Naik, chief town planner, TCP, lodged a complaint that the accused re-registered his birth on March 13, 1990, at the Kundaim village panchayat wherein he mentioned September 5, 1963, as his date of birth, “despite having a birth certificate registered at the civil registrar cum sub-registrar, Ponda, with the date of birth mentioned as September 5, 1962”.
