PATNA: One Vilayati Paswan (65) was stabbed to death while chasing a thief under Patrakar Nagar police station area in Patna on Saturday. The thief managed to escape, reports Kshitiz Singh.
The incident took place at Munna Chak around 4am when he was sleeping in his house. He was a rickshaw-puller. The thief barged into his house, said SDPO Sadar Sweety Sahrawat. The thief stole a keypad mobile phone. Vilayati woke up on hearing sound and saw the thief, who tried to run away. Vilayati chased and caught him, Sahrawat said.
The thief took out a knife from his pocket and stabbed the old man. His neighbour Chandu rushed to help Vilayati, but he was also attacked and injured. Vilayati succumbed to his injuries, she added.
