PUNE: A ticket agent from Vishrantwadi has been booked by the Hadapsar police on the charge of duping a travel operator of Rs 3.8 lakh.
The Majiri-based operator had booked 40 Pune-Delhi flight tickets for a group of tourists and had paid the advance money to the ticketing agent. However, he failed to deliver the tickets, following which he filed a complaint on Friday.
“The travel operator had placed an order for booking 40 tickets and deposited Rs 1.61 lakh for the advance booking of tickets. Later, the agent collected Rs 2.82 lakh due to the increase in fare prices, but he failed to deliver the tickets.
He also stopped making communications with him,” sub-inspector Ashok Gandhale said on Saturday.
