4 Celebrate Birthday In Middle Of Road, Held | Noida News – Times of India

NOIDA: Four men were arrested on Monday for allegedly creating a ruckus on the road at the Delhi-Noida border. The friends were celebrating the birthday of one of them at midnight and had placed a cot with several cakes right in the middle of the road. They also burst firecrackers. Police took action after a video was circulated on social media.
All four men, Kapil, Manish Kumar, Sunny Kumar, and Anoop Tripathi, are between 25 and 30 years of age and residents of New Ashok Nagar in Delhi.
“A large group of men was celebrating Manish’s birthday at midnight. They were shouting and having cake near Sector 1 at the Delhi-Noida border,” said Dhruv Kumar, the SHO of Phase 1 police station.
Passersby took photos and videos of the scene and shared them on social media. In one video, around 10–11 men can be seen standing around a cot placed in the middle of the road with many cakes on it. The men are heard talking loudly as vehicles try to pass by them. Cops said they also burst firecrackers.
Police got to know about the incident through one such social media post, following which a team from Phase 1 police station reached the spot. Cops said that though the men were in an inebriated condition, they fled, seeing the First Response Vehicle (FRV) approaching. The police later identified them with the help of locals and arrested four of them in the morning.
“They have been booked under IPC Section 151 (whoever knowingly joins or continues in any assembly of five or more persons likely to cause a disturbance of the public peace). Further investigation in the case is underway,” added Kumar.
