Kanpur: A married woman, in her thirties, was allegedly gang-raped by three men at gunpoint in a village in Chaubeypur area. The incident, which took place on Saturday, came to light after the woman lodged an FIR against the three on Sunday. The police have detained the three suspects and their questioning is underway.
The woman was alone in the house and her husband had gone to work in the fields when the three accused reached her house,” said a police official. As soon the woman opened the door, they barged into her house. They dragged her to a nearby fields and took turns raping her at gunpoint, said the police. “They threatened to kill her children and said that if she went to the police, they would kill her and her family,” added the official.
Police station in charge Sanjay Pandey said that on receiving the information from the victim’s husband, a police team reached the spot and initiated investigations. “We have detained three persons and their interrogation is underway,” he added.
