GURGAON: The option to update preferences for group C recruitment exam opened by Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) on September 25 was closed on Tuesday.
Around 3.2 lakh candidates applied for Common Entrance Test (CET), following which HSSC decided to get the preferences filled out by them before the examination for the main paper is scheduled. They were for 32,000 posts under group C in the state.
Only 1.3 lakh candidates were able to fill their preferences during the one-week window. Around 300 candidates lodged complaints with HSSC claiming that the time period was very less compared to the number of candidates .
An applicant had to write their serial number in Roman in front of the category of posts, take a print-out, self-attest it and then upload it on the website. Candidates claimed that the data uploaded earlier on the portal could not be edited as they were locked. Similarly, after selecting a preference they were not allowed to go back and make a correction.
